Chapter Three: Scene Eight

Scene Eight

Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam.
Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam.
I woke to loud knocking, opening my eyes, and then, shutting them again wearily. What time is it?
I lifted myself out of bed, and remembered what Yamato had said...
“I will never enter this room, but if you do not come out when you are called, a maid will go in to fetch you. Do not think of this as a good thing, when there is a knock on your door in the morning it means get up and get dressed and exit the room, understood?”
Understood. Oh, yeah, it’s understood, just not liked. I reminded myself that I chose to come here. I was going to get in shape here, loose the flab, make new friends, see new things... So far I hadn’t met anyone worth making friends with, but that would surely change, right?
He didn’t say how long it should take for us to get up and get dressed and leave the room. When I heard the door open, and then close again, the sign that either Raina or Nuria had already gotten ready, I knew I should hurry.
I pulled open a drawer and hastily pulled out a pair of pink sweat pants, and a tight pink tank top. I glanced around the room. Nuria was disappearing into the bathroom. So that scum is already ahead of me. That won’t happen again! I scolded myself for not having set an alarm for eight, but when I looked at my clock and saw that it read seven, I knew why I was so tired. So much for escaping school...
I rushed into the bathroom after Nuria. It had two toilets, each surrounded with shower curtains, one tub with a shower curtain, and a stand up shower as well. The sink was in the middle of the room, and it had five spouts that came out in an equidistant arrangement.
Nuria was brushing her teeth. I began to wash my face, but it was more like a rinse. I went to comb my hair, but that was a hopeless task. I thought to put on makeup. This might be my first impression on a lot of other people.
Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam.
Nuria dashed out of the bathroom and out the door. I guess I don’t have a choice. I swished mouth wash through my mouth hastily and flung myself through the door.
Where to go? Nuria and Raina weren’t there. I knew I wasn’t to go back downstairs, so I followed the hall in the opposite direction. I sprinted, around a corner, only to see another long empty hall way, but I continued down it, and at the end of this stretch it turned again, and I suddenly found myself in a truly huge room.
I gasped. The ceiling rose thirty feet above my head, but that wasn’t the shocking part: the room was the size of a football field! How could that be possible? The part of the manor we entered didn’t even seem as wide as a football field. It must be a very long manor.

Training begins. At last. The girls meet, and a new life of adventure begins... Well, sorta.
